Head over Heals

I have fallen in love and am head over heals, Asos is an international site that features adorable and trendy fashion pieces for affordable prices.  Their evening dresses make for the perfect bridesmaid dress. The best part is that all of the dresses pictured below are less than $100, yes you heard correctly, a bridesmaids dress this cute less than $100 will have your maids singing your praises. Here are a few of my favorites.  Their accessories are equally stunning.  Go ahead and indulge!

Apple of My Eye

Todays cool weather reminds me that Fall is quickly approaching. I love the rustic yet refined nature of this barn reception. Adding a colored cushion to tie in the wedding colors is a great alternative to colored table cloths which tend to overpower a reception site. I have been on a mini cake kick versus cupcakes or wedding cakes, so couldn’t resist these adorable, peanut crusted mini delicacies. Candied apples, yummm, add a sweet saying such as “Apple of my Eye”, and let guests enjoy. The chevron patterned bridesmaid dress along with a simple wedding dress pair perfectly with the fall wedding palate and style. What is your favorite part of fall weddings?Apple of My Eye

Jen & Shane, San Diego Wedding

Jen and Shane were married at the Estancia Resort, in La Jolla.  The serenity, trickling fountains, stone and brick haciendas, private pathways, succulents, and lush greenery created the perfect backdrop for Jen and Shane’s perfect day.  The bride and groom glowed with admiration and affection for one another and I felt blessed to be apart of their wedding.

The Wedding was picturesque with all things lovely being captured by the very talented Chelsea Ann.  The evening ran beutifuly thanks to the fabulous DJ and MC Andy from Disc Go Around.  The gorgeous florals were provided by Organic Elements, and the delicious cake was styled and created by Twigs Bakery.  I can not say enough good things about each vendor, they were wonderful to work and I would highly recommend their services to any bride and groom.  Equally wonderful was the accomidating and helpful staff at the Estancia.  Thank you all for your hand in creating the perfect evening for Jen and Shane.

How precious is this photo of Shane, Jen, and Jen’s Father?

The Gift to Give 5-8 years

Your 5 Year Anniversary marks the year of gifts made out of wood.  Get creative!  A pair of wooden rocking chairs for your front porch, a wood apothecary filled with all of your spouses favorite trinkets and treats, a wood jewelry box, or a wood wish tree filled with sayings, quotes or verses about Love.

The traditional gift for your 6th Anniversary is iron, however the UK’s tradition is sugar so I say choose the one you like best.  Iron is such a symbol of strength while sugar represents the sweet love you share in your relationship.  Chocolate covered strawberries, Cupcakes, and other sugary treats will leave your spouse feeling sweet.  An iron bird bath to be placed in ones garden to watch the “Love Birds”, an iron trimmed vanity mirror, or even a cast iron pot filled with a delicious dinner are great ways to celebrate 6 years of Love.

7 years of marriage is marked by giving wool.  Now if you were married in the fall or winter then giving a wool p- coat, gloves or a throw seem perfect for the season.  However, if you were married in the spring or summer these gifts may not seem as fitting.  Substitute with  Mary Jane styled slippers, a wool pillow, or even cut out shapes from wool (as gift tags) attach them to a few gifts and give your spouse clues on finding these gifts.

For an 8 year anniversary bronze is the traditional US gift, while salt is the traditional UK gift.  Salt and pepper shakers come in a variety of styles, and a warm bubble bath paired with a Sea Salt scrub will provide the relaxation you both may need.  Bronze pieces such as bracelets or a bronze tea set will leave your Bride grinning.

From elaborate, to fashionable, to thoughtful any gift you give will be treasured.
